Events & Workshop
March 20, 2020 @ 9:00 am - March 22, 2020 @ 4:00 pm
The summit is being postponed due to the rapid spread of the Covid 19 virus and the implications on the province on the over 1100 registrants travelling to NS for the US , Europe and other parts of the country. The Jean Foundation did not make this decision lightly but public health and safety must be the deciding factor. As recently as 4pm yesterday we were moving forward but conversation over dinner hour with representatives from the Dept. Health and Dr. Strang’s office laid out a picture that was hard not to accept. Disappointing yes but safety must be first factor in making decisions of this nature.
Mar. 20 at 9:00 am. to Mar. 22 at 4:00 pm.

The Michaëlle Jean Foundation is excited to bring the third edition of the National Black Canadians Summit. Join us in Halifax, Nova Scotia, from Friday, March 20th to Sunday, March 22nd, 2020 to raise awareness on systemic barriers faced by people of African descent and discuss effective ways to advance positive outcomes for Black communities in Canada.
The National Black Canadian Summit is an annual conference that aims to bring awareness to the major challenges faced by Black Communities across Canada, and to open a national conversation on ways to enhance social cohesion, inclusion, equity and sustainable development, for all Canadians.
This tird editiom will be the opportunity for all to center Black voices in the elaboration of a roadmap that will inform corporate, government and nonprofit entities on concrete ways in which they can be part of creating a Canada where racism is no longer a barrier to development and social cohesion.
