Acadia University – Kamp Kujichagulia
Kamp Kujichagulia is held the first week of July of every year, and is looking for a responsible, enthusiastic and outgoing Kamp Counsellor-in-training (CIT) for our busy Kamp this summer. The Kamp CIT position is ideal for candidates who show strong initiative and are eager to continue to build their leadership skills. The Kamp Counsellor-in-training will provide support to camp staff as well as ensure a safe and exciting experience for the kampers.
Be able and willing to treat all participants, staff members, and peers with respect and dignity at all times.
Demonstrate familiarity with Kamp Kujichagulia rules and policies, as well as willingness to accept responsibility for the enforcement of rules and policies.
Be able and willing to accept and perform leadership roles when needed, and work as a member of the team when others are in the leadership position.
Be a positive role model for the participants at all times during the camp, as well as for the staff working the Kamp as well.
Be present and on-time for all assigned activities, events, and duties;
Provide safety to all and ensure the well being of each Kamp participant at all times
Perform other duties assigned to you by Kamp Counselors or Kamp Director.
First aid Level C & CPR (preferred)
Criminal Record, Child Abuse, Vulnerable Person check
Demonstrate leadership qualities and be a team player
High school, college or graduate student
