SUMMARY:The 23rd Annual ANSMA Artist Showcase & Awards
DESCRIPTION:ANSMA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development\, promotion and enrichment of African Nova Scotian Music.\n\n\n\n\n\nThe purpose of ANSMA is to increase the amount of African Nova Scotians participating in the Canadian Music Industry and give them the support and recognition that is dedicated solely to the development and promotion of African Nova Scotians artist and musicians. The most pressing objective that ANSMA had was getting involved with the East Coast Music Association because there was hardly any representation of African Nova Scotians during the ECMA award show. ANSMA pressed extremely hard and worked very diligently to help artists gain exposure and recognition that they were well deserving of and now there is a Black Vibes Showcase which is put on by ANSMA and ECMA that takes place during the ECMA weekend\, this showcase is designed for artist to put their music and themselves in the spotlight. \nThe African Nova Scotian Music Association also seeks to give local artists advice on professional development\, provide for them a viable social network with professionals in the music industry\, as well as seminars\, workshops and conferences where artist can gather and explore musical concepts and expand their musical inclinations.

DESCRIPTION:It’s Deeper Than Music Phase III \nFor All Youth Ages 15-20 \nSo we’ve covered the fact (through our earlier Phase I and Phase II Live and Virtual workshops) that many young artists ​don’t know the next steps​ they should be taking in their intended or potential career in the music industry. Now\, we’re going to address both of those problems with a method commonly used by entrepreneurs – a business plan\, or in this case\, a musician career plan. \nSurely\, there has to be some I can finally be included in the music industry?  \nNow is the time for some real commitment. It’s the time for more all-aged shows\, and more career development opportunities. \nWe are sure you’ve got countless stories\, which you can talk to the impact music has had on you\, so please read carefully\, and see what more you could be doing to ensure a successful future music industry. This program will be packed with insight\, facts and examples from professional artists and business people that have created the future of music! \nWorkshop themes will include: \n\n●  How to Make Money in the Industry\n●  What it Takes to Make a Song\n●  Breaking Down the Music (publishing\, performance royalties)\n●  Various Fields and vocations in the music Industry\n●  The opportunity to ask established artists about their career and creation process\n●  What’s in the Studio? ​A look into the creative space and work station.\n\nDates: November 24\, 2020 to March 15\, 2021 \nSession Delivery: Via Zoom
